An update from Jacques Cyr, Breeder member from Trois Rivieres, Quebec.

The weekend of May 5 and 6 I went to Vermont for a competition sanctioned by NAHRA.

Hunting and hunter class for Bibiche and regular class for Guinness.

Guinness performed really well when there was no gunner but here there were three people

and they all start moving, the first had reloaded his semiautomatic weapon and also because the second

was working on the first run with the live duck, then its two gunner made noise and

the third which handles also reload the duck making noise with his sling, then she retrieved the duck every time and hot freshly slaughtered for her age was excellent.

Conclusion: we will practice this situation to prevent her from being destabilized again by noisy gunner

and moving continuously.

Bibiche on Saturday broke to her left looking for the duck until the judge gave me the go ahead.

She did a great job but too soon the signal was not given.

The first duck launched, then the second 4 seconds later and no signal, the judge may take

time, I was so unsettled that I have not done Brake (stop on whistle or voice) so

we did not finish on Saturday.
Then, Sunday Bibiche made a perfect score and a great performance!

She did three tests spent in the classroom for the hunter as I miss only one success, I tried to pass

the placement of another breed and get the title for our Barbet.

Congratulations Jacques, Bibiche and Guiness!! We are so proud of you…and happy to see and hear updates of the Barbet working in a hunting capacity! The Barbet is a “gun dog” mainly used for upland fowl. This is a great representation of what the Barbet was bred to do!

Bibiche – You ROCK!!

Not only is breeder member Jacques Cyr (Barbochos3Rivieres) working hard with Bibiche in the CKC circuits, earning both her WC (working certificate) and WCI (working certificate intermediate) but he started working her within the NAHRA organization even before that!

All About Pets Show….2012

What a great weekend at the All About Pets Show – THANK YOU to all who came to visit us at the booth, and all our members and friends who came to help and volunteer their time at the booth – showing off their dogs, and sharing their experiences with others!!

Great time was had by all – from tiny tots to the older generation. Often the children wanted to know “where are the eyes” !! So up went the hair, and there were their eyes!

Special thanks to our President, Judy Preston, and Dawn Gardham for coming early, setting up, staying late, volunteering at the booth during the show, and being such a positive and upbeat part of our membership!!
